About

We Started With a Deflection Board, Not a Sales Floor

Kick Point Lab exists because too many "custom" fittings still end with a flex letter picked off a chart and nothing said about where that shaft actually loads.

How It Started

A Bench Built Around One Missing Number

Kick Point Lab opened in Winston-Salem in 2012, after years of watching golfers get re-fit into the same trajectory problem because nobody had checked where the old shaft was actually bending. We bought a deflection board before we bought a second launch monitor, on purpose — the board tells you what the shaft is doing; the monitor tells you what the ball did about it.

Since then we've logged bend-profile readings on close to eight thousand shafts, cross-referenced against the same golfer's launch numbers, and built a working reference for how tip, mid, and butt section stiffness actually translates into ball flight.

What We Won't Compromise On

Three Rules the Bench Runs By

Board Before Bag

Every shaft we recommend has been scanned on the deflection board first — we don't forward a flex letter without knowing where it bends.

No Line We're Married To

We stock components across every major shaft and head manufacturer, so a recommendation is never steered by a single supplier's target.

Report Is Yours Either Way

You get the full bend-profile-and-launch report whether you build with us or not, and the fitting fee is credited if you do.

Meet the People Reading the Board

Every fitter on staff runs board sessions daily, not occasionally.
